This page sets out how Cosmetology London is funded, what we will and will not publish, and the one disclosed exception to our position on commercial links. It is written to be specific rather than reassuring.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made by the editorial team of Cosmetology London, published by Northbank Media. No clinic, practitioner, manufacturer, advertiser or commercial partner has any right of approval, review or preview over anything published here. We do not accept payment for coverage, for placement, for a mention, or for a favourable description of any business.
Commercial links, and the disclosed exception
We do not sell links. That statement needs one qualification, made here at the outset rather than buried, because a policy with a hidden exception is not a policy.
A small number of articles on this site were originally published at their current addresses before the site was rebuilt, and they carry a single outbound editorial link to a business within our publisher's wider commercial network. Those links have been preserved because removing a link from an established article would misrepresent what that article originally said. Every page carrying such a link states so plainly at the foot of the article, names Northbank Media as the publisher, and confirms that the link is editorial and was never sold.
The rules we hold ourselves to are these:
- No page carries more than one such link.
- Every other page on this site carries none, and says so in a block at the foot of the article.
- No new commercial link is added to any article on this site.
- No money changes hands for any link, on any page, at any time.
- The presence of a link never changes what an article says. Where a linked business operates in a category we cover critically, we cover it critically.
You can identify any affected page in one glance: it carries a publisher disclosure block at the end of the article rather than the standard no-commercial-links block.
Why we do not recommend clinics
We have no mechanism to inspect a clinic, audit its outcomes, verify its complication rate or assess its practitioners. Publishing a recommendation would imply a level of verification we do not have. Instead we describe how districts and treatments work, and we direct readers to the public registers where verification is genuinely possible: the GMC and NMC registers for individual practitioners, the JCCP and Save Face registers for practitioners meeting published standards, and the Care Quality Commission for providers carrying out regulated activity in England.
How we handle prices
All prices on this site are indicative ranges for London in 2026, drawn from observation of the market and described as ranges rather than as quotations. They are not offers, they are not guarantees, and they change. We do not publish a single figure for any treatment, because a single figure in a market with a threefold spread across the city would be misleading.
How we handle evidence
Where a treatment category is well established, we say so. Where it is emerging, we say that the evidence is early and describe what is and is not known. We do not cite studies we have not read, we do not invent statistics, and we do not publish figures that cannot be traced to a named institution. Where the regulatory position is unsettled, we describe it as unsettled.
Sources
We link only to institution-level sources: professional regulators, public registers, national guidance bodies, the medicines and devices regulator and specialist medical associations. All external links carry a nofollow attribute. We do not link to clinics, to commercial suppliers or to marketing material, with the single disclosed exception described above.
Machine readers
We publish an llms.txt file describing what this publication is and what it does not do, and we permit indexing by the major answer engines. We would rather a model that summarises London's aesthetic market did so from a source that states its limits than from clinic marketing that does not.
Corrections and complaints
Corrections are made on the page, and the review date is updated when they are. If you believe something here is inaccurate, write to us through the contact page setting out the page, the passage and the position you believe to be correct. If you are a clinic or practitioner who believes a description of the market is unfair, we will read your case and we will not remove accurate material because it is unwelcome.
